Dollar General Premium Diapers Review

I’ve had two babies in disposable diapers and we have become very loyal to one brand. However, I am always willing to try other options to see if they work better for our family. Diapers can cut into a budget and get very expensive, so finding a cost effective version that works just as well or better than our current brand is something I am always open to. Dollar General has a new line of premium diapers that I had the chance to try, and I must say they impressed.

I am pretty wary of using store brands, because I’ve only found one in the past that works for us. My daughters both have excema, sensitive skin and super chunky thighs, so finding a diaper that fits correctly with stretchy fasteners and one that doesn’t dry out the skin is key.  I am familiar with the Dollar General brand because we use the overnight pull ups with my older daughter. They have never failed us and are cheaper than name brands like Goodnites.

Unlike most store brands, these diapers have a cute design and are super soft. I find that the dry diapers don’t absorb as much and are more prone to leaks. Unfortunately I tested out these diapers on my little one when she was sick. She doesn’t have as many wet diapers when she isn’t feeling well, but from what I could tell these diapers absorb very well. We had no problems with leaks. The stretchy side panels are great for her chunky legs. We had no marks from the diaper cutting off any circulation. They are also true to size. With other store brands I’ve tried I had to move up one size, but the Dollar General diapers fit just like our favorite brand.

It’s hard to tell in the picture, but my little one is having an excema break out right now and her stomach and diaper area are affected. This diaper did not irritate her or cause a rash. We have actually had rash problems with more expensive brands like Pampers and Huggies. Dollar General’s Premium Diapers are hypoallergenic with Vitamin E and Aloe to protect baby’s skin. A jumbo package of these diapers is about half the price of brands like Pampers or Huggies, and is a couple dollars cheaper than a package of Luvs, which is the brand we always buy. Dollar General is located conveniently down the road from us as well. It’s difficult to change from a brand you’ve always used and loved, but these are definitely a contender.

Being hypoallergenic and having Vitamin E and Aloe for protection must be great for the babies! I raised for boy’s and wished that they had these when they were babies. Thanks for the information. I will spread the news!

  3. I must say, I was pretty surprised to read such a positive review of a store brand. My son had issues just like your daughters before he. Moved to pull-ups, minus the excema. He has very sensitive skin & is easily prone to breakouts & had monster chubby thighs.( which I couldn’t get enough of!). I tried store brands about. 2 different times & after horrible outcomes, decided it was worth my hassle & his discomfort to spend the extra money. It dented the pocketbook, but made me. Feel more comfortable in the long run. Always glad to hear a positive review on necessary products like these. Thank you :)

I don’t mind trying a “generic” brand. It seems for a lot of items, it’s the same ingredient(s), etc. for a much better price!

  8. I’m all for store brands when I can. Glad these worked well for you.

I wish they had diapers like this out when my son was a baby. The reason i like them so much is because they are hypoallergenic with Vitamin E and Aloe to protect the skin.My son was always breaking out in rashes, Then went to cloth diapers and they work good.
